A nice sunset and a calm Lake Superior, after 2 days of strong winds that resulted in all of us capsizing and washing ashore.
No need to vacation to the Caribbean when we've got this paradise, right here in the Midwest!
Jeffrey, Krista, Beth, and I kayaked the entire Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, from Munising to Grand Marais. We had several days of great weather, followed by some moments that reminded us that Lake Superior is in charge. Another great trip in the books!
Lake superior contains an estimated 3 QUADRILLION gallons of water. I love to imagine the contours and treasures to be discovered beneath the surface. Here you can see some texture in the sand in the shallow water caused by the waves crashing on shore.
